Community Involvement
By: Lena
Lena @ 12:30 pm
Michigan First Credit Union continues to demonstrate its commitment to the Detroit-metropolitan community by sponsoring three charitable events this holiday season: the Salvation Army’s Annual Holly Berry Boutique and Annual Civic Luncheon and Benefit for Children’s Programs, the Special Olympics “Decorating for Dreams” campaign and the 41st Annual Detroit Urban League Guild Gala. Michigan First was a major sponsor of the Salvation Army’s annual benefit held annually to support a special youth initiative fund that works to help keep the Salvation Army’s programs innovative and effective. In addition, Michigan First was one of the community sponsors of the “Decorating for Dreams” campaign hosted by the Special Olympics of Michigan. The Credit Union sponsored a holiday ornament that hung on the 24-foot Christmas tree in Northland Center in Southfield. The 41st Annual Detroit Urban League Guild Gala also benefited from the major sponsorship of Michigan First Credit Union. The Guild, the largest and oldest volunteer arm of the agency, is an organization of women, men and young adults who work in support of the Urban Leagues commitment to equal opportunity for all persons. The funds raised at these charitable events will help sustain growth of youth programs, raise awareness of children and adults with intellectual disabilities, and support equal opportunity initiatives in the Detroit-metropolitan area.
